8 August-16 December, 2011 workshops on development of assessment tools for 18 priority occupations will be held. Representatives from industry sector are actively participating in the process of development of assessment tools. Soon they will be awarded with certificates about recognizing them as independent assessors. Also they will be included in the registry for independent assessors in AVE, and when needed, will be involved to assessment of graduates. This activity is a step to introduction of national assessment and certification system.

From 15 August till 4 November, 2011 with the support of international competency-based training consultant the workshop on development of modular curriculums and learning materials was held. Masters and teachers of relevant PVSs participated in this workshop. Result of the workshop will be modular curriculums for 18 priority occupations.

On 6 June 2011 the training was launched using pilot modular curriculum for occupation "sewer". This training is piloted in the follwoing PVSs: PVS № 2, PVS 16, PVS 17, PVS 94, PVS 95, PVS 102, PVS 110. Groups of trainees comprise of the unemployed, recruited throught Employment Center.

4-20 May, 2011 the workshop was conducted with the support of international competency - based (CBT) training consultant. According to results of this workshop, training materials for occupation "tailor" were developed. Training on this modular curriculum will be launched starting 6 June, 2011. Short-term training using this curriculum will first be piloted in PVSs 102, 2, 94.

On 8 April, 2011 the meeting between authorized representatives of Asian Development Bank and Ministry of labor, employment and migration of the Kyrgyz Republic took place. During this meeting the key issues related to implementation of the Project "Vocational Education and Skills Development" were discussed. Key issues were as follows: roll-out of the Management Information System, introduction of developed modular curriculums for 18 occupations, introduction of per-capita financing, etc.

15-18 February, 2011 PIU together with Director of Retraining Center under AVE organized a meeting with masters-multipliers, which were trained under the Project. The objective of this meeting was to regulate the system of conducting cascade training among other masters of the PVE system. Masters-multipliers were informed about introduction of new reporting system for them.

24-28 January, 2011 the last training on computer literacy was conducted for workers (accountants, deputy directors) of PVSs of the north region. Trained staff will in future maintain the Management Information System to be introduced under the Project.

From 30 November till 3 December 2010 the follow-up workshop was conducted for trained 65 masters of PVE system. During this workshop trained masters strengthened their skills and knowledge, obtained under ADB project. According to results of this workshop, Manual will be developed and distributed to other 1 300 masters of the whole PVE system.

In October, December 2010 training on computer literacy was organized for staff (accountants and deputy directors) of 5 pilot PVSs from Bishkek and PVSs of the south region (training was delivered in Osh city). The trained staff will in future run the Management Information System. In January, 2011 similar training is planned to be organized for PVSs of the north region.

On 6-18 September, 2010 training for School Directors, Deputy Directors and Chairmen of School Advisory Boards was conducted in Yssyk-Kul oblast, Bostery village, resort house “Kyrgyzskoye Vzmorje”. The following modules were used at the training: cooperative management and social partnership, school management and leading responsibility of school directors, development of principles and strategies for development of PVS, spheres of activity and conditions of school management and marketing, technique of creativity, budgeting, quality management, staff management and staff development.
